In a move set to drive South African motoring enthusiasts wild, OMODA & JAECOO have joined forces with Absa to simplify vehicle financing for new-car buyers. This strategic alliance, formed at the start of June 2024, brings together the fast-growing automotive brands, collectively known as Brand O&J, with one of Africa’s leading financial services groups. Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager for OMODA & JAECOO, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, "We’re thrilled to partner with Absa, a respected financial institution that is rapidly becoming the bank of choice in the automotive industry. This collaboration will enhance the accessibility of our competitively priced vehicles for local customers. Fans of Brand O&J should stay tuned for some exciting credit offers in the near future." Brand O&J has already made significant inroads into the South African market. The OMODA brand debuted in April 2023, with the distinct silhouette of the C5 making a notable impression in a market crowded with similar crossover designs. The limited-edition C5 GT was added to the lineup later that year in November. Looking ahead, the OMODA range will expand with the introduction of the luxurious C9 flagship and the fully electric E5 later in 2024. Additionally, the new C7 is set to join the local lineup in the near future, promising even more options for South African drivers. Charl Potgieter, Managing Executive at Absa Vehicle and Asset Finance, highlighted the significance of this partnership, saying, "This collaboration demonstrates our dedication to innovation and accessibility in automotive financing. By teaming up with OMODA & JAECOO, we’re ensuring customers enjoy a seamless and efficient financing process, reinforcing Absa’s position as the automotive industry’s preferred bank. Our aim is to help South Africans achieve their dreams of vehicle ownership with unmatched convenience and service excellence." JAECOO, an emerging urban off-road SUV brand, launched its first model, the J7, in South Africa in April 2024. This launch marked the country's distinction as both the first right-hand-drive market and the first in Africa to welcome the J7. The JAECOO lineup, currently consisting of three models, is set to grow with the arrival of the J8 PHEV later in 2024 and the new J6, further cementing the brand’s presence in the local market. More details on these upcoming models will be announced as their release dates approach. For South African car buyers, this partnership between OMODA & JAECOO and Absa signifies a promising future filled with innovative, accessible, and convenient vehicle financing solutions.
