Chery Global has marked an impressive milestone, with over one million Tiggo 7 SUVs now exported worldwide. This achievement underlines the automaker’s dedication to serving international markets, including a strong presence in South Africa. Jay Jay Botes, General Manager for Chery South Africa, shared the significance of the milestone, saying, “Reaching one million Tiggo 7 exports showcases Chery’s long-term commitment to markets like South Africa. The success of the Tiggo 7 lineup reflects our broader vision for growth and our contribution to the region’s social development, where we aim to serve a broad spectrum of customers.” Chery held a special celebration at its Wuhu production facility to commemorate the occasion. With manufacturing plants across the globe, Chery has tailored the Tiggo 7 to meet the unique demands of each market. In South Africa, the Tiggo 7 has quickly become popular for its strong blend of affordability, quality, and premium features, leading Chery South Africa to rank among the top five in local passenger vehicle sales in October. Since its launch, the Tiggo 7 has earned accolades and high ratings, including a five-star ANCAP safety score and recognition in studies like the China Initial Quality Study (IQS) and China Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL). These honors reinforce the model’s growing reputation for quality and safety. Beyond expanding its global footprint, Chery remains committed to supporting economic and social initiatives in South Africa. Recently, Chery launched the Chery Foundation in South Africa, marking its third year in the country. This foundation underscores the brand’s dedication to social responsibility and strengthening community ties. With one million Tiggo 7 units reaching drivers around the world, Chery is well-positioned to continue its growth trajectory, while making a meaningful impact in South Africa’s automotive landscape.
