The new Suzuki Eeco, priced at an affordable R212,900, proves that you don’t need to sacrifice size for functionality. With this impressive vehicle, Suzuki Auto South Africa aims to blend business with pleasure, offering a versatile solution for both entrepreneurs and adventurers alike. Suzuki Auto South Africa is showcasing the Eeco’s potential by providing it to several pre-selected small businesses. These businesses, chosen with the help of Suzuki’s brand friends, will have access to the Eeco rent-free for three months. This initiative allows entrepreneurs to experience the Eeco’s capabilities firsthand, from its spacious loading bay to its economical 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. “The proof of the pudding is in the eating,” says Brendon Carpenter, Brand Marketing Manager of Suzuki Auto South Africa. “We want entrepreneurs to drive the Eeco, see how much they can load and lock up in the loading bay, and test for themselves how frugal the 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine really is.” Launched just over a year ago, the Suzuki Eeco boasts a loading bay measuring 1,620 mm in length and 1,300 mm in width—perfect for a standard pallet. With a load-carrying capacity of 615 kg, it’s ideal for small businesses needing to transport substantial cargo. The Eeco is powered by Suzuki’s reliable 1.2-liter K12N petrol engine, delivering 59 kW and 104 Nm to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. This engine, also used in the Suzuki Super Carry pickup, has a proven track record in the local market. Despite its competitive price, the Eeco doesn’t skimp on features. It comes equipped with air conditioning, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with traction control, and wiring ready for a single-DIN radio. The vehicle also features dual sliding side doors and a large rear door for easy loading and unloading. #VanLife: Transforming the Eeco To further highlight the Eeco’s versatility, Suzuki launched the #VanLife campaign, challenging creative minds to convert the Eeco into a camper van. The result? A compact, mobile home complete with a convertible smart bed, ample storage, and a basin with washing facilities. The #VanLife Eeco also features a collapsible veranda for shade and shelter, making it perfect for outdoor adventures. Inspired by the van conversion cultures in India and Japan, Suzuki South Africa showed that living the #VanLife doesn’t require a hefty budget or a heavy-vehicle driver’s license. The Eeco, with its affordable price tag, opens up a world of possibilities for budget-conscious car enthusiasts and adventurers. “In the same way the Suzuki Swift Sport and Jimny have proven that you don’t need extreme horsepower or a massive budget to have fun, the Eeco shows that you can enjoy a nomadic lifestyle affordably,” Carpenter explains. Showcasing at Cashbuild The Suzuki Eeco #VanLife concept is now traveling across South Africa, with showcases at Cashbuild stores nationwide. Suzuki has partnered with Cashbuild, South Africa’s largest retailer of building materials, to display the Eeco and Super Carry at 318 stores, inviting customers to test drive these versatile vehicles. “We are partnering with local dealers in each area to invite Cashbuild customers to test our two workhorses and see how they can fit into their lives and businesses,” Carpenter adds. With the Suzuki Eeco, priced at R212,900, you truly can have it all—whether for business or pleasure.
