Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) continues to be a leader in employee satisfaction and development, as the company has been certified as a Top Employer for the seventh consecutive year. Additionally, MBSA has retained its title of Top Employer Industry Leader in the automotive category for the fourth consecutive year. These accolades were announced at the Top Employers Institute awards ceremony held on 19 January 2023, which recognizes companies from 121 countries in six regions around the world for their excellence in employee conditions. Executive Director of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, Abey Kgotle, commented on the certification, saying “Our people are an essential ingredient that contributes to the success of our business. Retaining the Top Employer Industry Leader status for the fourth consecutive year is testament to our commitment to enriching the world of work through our employee offerings. This achievement reaffirms our deliberate efforts of being an employer of choice and to make working at Mercedes-Benz South Africa a great place to work.” MBSA has demonstrated its commitment to employee development by spending approximately R165 million on various training programs and initiatives between 2021 and 2022. The company’s development programs include leadership development, technical programs, graduate development programs, student internship programs, and bursaries for tertiary students. The company also achieved B-BBEE Level 2 status in 2022, and participated in the Youth Employment Services (YES) initiative to create job opportunities for unemployed youth in South Africa. This certification from the Top Employers Institute validates MBSA's high standards and dedication to creating a work environment that promotes excellence, and strengthens the company's employer branding.
