Jetour, a rapidly expanding automotive brand known for its innovation and off-road capabilities, recently hosted its 2024 Global Travel+ Conference in Fuzhou, China. The event gathered over 300 journalists from around the globe, including an 11-member delegation from South Africa, who explored the brand’s latest advancements in hybrid technology, intelligent manufacturing, and off-road vehicle design. This year’s Travel+ Conference highlighted Jetour’s commitment to becoming a major player in the "Travel+" segment, with experiences that offered deep insights into the brand’s future in hybrid SUVs. Attendees were introduced to the unique “Travel+” culture, a cornerstone of Jetour’s mission to make road journeys an adventurous, elevated experience for drivers worldwide. A standout feature of the conference was a tour of Jetour’s Fuzhou Intelligent Factory, the hub of its global manufacturing operations. Here, journalists observed firsthand the sophisticated production processes behind Jetour’s vehicles. The facility, which currently has an annual capacity of 200,000 units, showcases the latest in automotive manufacturing technologies, with plans to double its production output to meet growing demand. The factory’s highly automated systems include precision stamping, welding, painting, and assembly, each optimized for efficiency and quality. In an impressive display of automation, Jetour’s Fuzhou facility employs autonomous mobile robots and automated guided vehicles to streamline logistics and enhance productivity. During the tour, the South African delegation witnessed the facility’s cutting-edge paint shop, where robotic systems perform up to 18 tasks per hour, completing approximately 10,000 painted units monthly. This advanced system ensures top-notch finishes, prioritizing both quality and energy efficiency. Jetour’s intelligent production line is driven by AI and big data analytics, creating a "smart brain" that oversees the entire assembly process. The facility adheres to strict quality standards, including a 100% error-proof assembly system, thorough inspections for all vehicles, and complete traceability for quality assurance—making Jetour’s manufacturing one of the most advanced among global automakers. The South African journalists also had the opportunity to test drive the Jetour T2, a model that made its official debut in Dubai earlier this year and has already gained popularity in markets across the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Both the T2 and T1 off-road SUVs are anticipated to launch in South Africa in 2025, marking Jetour’s first venture into the local off-road vehicle market. Since its inception in 2018, Jetour has positioned itself as a top contender in the SUV market with a focus on “Travel+” lifestyle experiences. The brand has recorded remarkable growth, achieving global sales of 1.4 million units in just over six years. Its upward trajectory continues with 2023 seeing an impressive year-on-year sales increase of 75%. Locally, Jetour has made a strong debut with its recent launch in South Africa. The brand quickly reached over 568 unit sales across the X70 Plus and Dashing models, positioning Jetour for a successful close to the year. As Jetour continues its journey, it remains dedicated to crafting SUVs that redefine the adventure of the open road for drivers across the world.
