The Gaborone Motor Show is back with a special milestone edition, marking its 10th anniversary at The Fields Mall from 5–6 September 2025. Over the past decade, the event has grown into Botswana’s premier automotive showcase, bringing together car enthusiasts, dealerships, and international brands under one roof. Speaking at the recent press conference, event organiser Christian Ernest described this year’s edition as more than just a celebration of cars—it’s a celebration of growth. “The 2025 Gaborone Motor Show is our 10-year investment show. It continues to be a world-class platform that offers Botswana’s automotive industry a place to showcase the best they have to offer to our local market,” Ernest said. A Growing Automotive Market Since last year’s show, Botswana has welcomed nearly six new car brands, reflecting a 30% growth in the local automotive industry. Among the fresh entrants are names like Omoda, Jaecoo, Foton, JETOUR and Chery a wave of new arrivals Ernest jokingly referred to as an “Asian invasion.” “This expansion shows the confidence these manufacturers have in Botswana’s market and in the stability of our government. It also means more employment opportunities for our people within the sector,” Ernest noted. Supercars & Dealer Power Beyond the new brands, the 10th anniversary show promises an adrenaline-fueled lineup of supercars from South Africa. Last year’s highlight was a Lamborghini, but for 2025, visitors can expect even more exotic machinery to take the spotlight. Local dealerships are also fully backing the event, with major names like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and other top marques confirmed to showcase their latest models. Complementary industries—ranging from banks to insurance companies—will also be on site, offering a complete motoring ecosystem. Tickets & Access Tickets are already on sale through Webtickets, selected Sefalana and Choppies outlets, as well as other retail partners. Prices start at P100, with children under 12 enjoying discounted entry. Ernest concluded with an open invitation: “We’re inviting everyone to come and enjoy the show. It’s not just about cars—it’s about bringing people together to celebrate the progress of Botswana’s motoring industry.”
